In the last few months a project has formed to advance the nv driver with
better support and open-source 3d. Would it be feasible to run in on the
xbox? Has anyone looked into it?

I've been looking at the CVS and this
http://xbox.cvs.sourceforge.net/xbox-linux/xf86-video-nvxbox/ seems to be
the latest version of the X driver for the xbox. Am I correct?

Hi,

there seems to be new binary driver for Xorg created by Eric Cooper.
Search in Newsgroup users for modular nvxbox driver.

Ciao

I basically just packaged the CVS code for Debian; it's at:
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~ecc/xserver-xorg-video-nvxbox_1.0.1.5_i386.deb
.../xserver-xorg-video-nvxbox_1.0.1.5.dsc
.../xserver-xorg-video-nvxbox_1.0.1.5.tar.gz
It may need to be updated again for the latest xserver-xorg -- if anybody does
that, please let me know so I can track the changes.

I'm also interested in nouveau for Xbox -- lack of 3D made me ditch my
Xbox-based MythTV frontend because I wanted to run StepMania as well.
But I'm not likely to work on it any time soon, since the little PC
I'm using now is a lot faster, quieter, and smaller than the Xbox.
